Day 1 (L)
Depart Adelaide by light aircraft for the
Flinders Ranges. Transfer to
accommodation. Join a 4WD tour of the Flinders Ranges and Wilpena
Pound - an almost perfectly formed geological bowl which covers
nearly 8000 hectares.
Day 2 (B, L, D)
Depart the Flinders Ranges by light
aircraft for a 90 minute flight to the central Eyre Peninsula community
of Wudinna. In Wudinna, join a 4WD safari to experience the volcanic
rock hills of the Gawler Ranges. On the way to the overnight stop
at Kangaluna Camp, expect to see emus and kangaroos in their natural
landscape.
Kangaluna Bush Camp accommodation is large
two bedroom platform tents with queen size beds, and private facilities.
Day 3 (B, L)
Travel by 4WD to Baird Bay on the Eyre Peninsula
coast for an unforgettable wildlife experience. During a boat-trip,
hope to see bottlenose dolphins and later, join the dolphins for
a swim. Cross the bay to a colony of rare Australian sea lions,
and wade in protected shallow lagoons. After lunch, rejoin dry land
to visit the spectacular Eyre Peninsula coastline on the way to
Streaky Bay to board a light aircraft for a one hour flight to Port
Lincoln. Transfer to waterfront accommodation in Port Lincoln.
Day 4 (B, L)
Join a 4WD tour which includes the sights
and sounds of Port Lincoln, Boston Bay (three times the size of
Sydney Harbour) and the beaches, towering sand dunes, and tranquil
sheltered bays of Coffin Bay National Park.
Return through scenic farmland to the Port Lincoln
airport, and return by air to Adelaide.
