Day 1
Depart Adelaide for Coober Pedy. Coober Pedy is a
town of 4000 people world famous for its opal mining. Summer
heat means that most of the residents live underground. Spend
the afternoon on a tour of the town, which will include a visit
down an opal mine, to an underground church and an underground
home, looking for gems, shopping for opals. All set against
the backdrop of some of the harshest environments in Australia.

Day 2 (B, L)
Depart Coober Pedy by light
aircraft to enjoy scenic views of the rugged Outback landscape
and Lake Eyre, Australia’s
largest salt lake.
Stop at William Creek, South
Australia’s smallest town (pop.
6). Enjoy a stroll around town and lunch at the famed William
Creek Hotel, an iconic Outback pub.
After lunch, fly South West
to Ceduna, enjoying views of Australia’s
largest cattle station (the same size as Belgium), and the coastal
scenery of the West Coast of the Eyre Peninsula.
A town tour of Ceduna - the
Oyster Capital of Australia - will include
authentic Aboriginal art, windswept beaches, the Southern Ocean,
and local yarns of West Coast life and history.
